why my accound is on hold

Dear PayPal,

I am writing to express my disappointment regarding a recent payment held on my PayPal account. Despite converting my account to a business profile, I encountered this issue.

Here's the situation:

  • I am currently located outside of Kenya, where I originally opened my personal PayPal account.
  • I use Mpesa as my linked payment method.
  • I upgraded to a business account to streamline transactions for my client.

Unfortunately, this upgrade hasn't provided the expected convenience. The held payment disrupts my business flow, especially on my website.

To resolve this issue, I kindly request one of the following:

  1. Resolve the hold on my payment as soon as possible.
  2. If resolving the hold is not feasible, facilitate the return of the payment to the sender.

Considering the limitations I've faced, I may be forced to request account closure if a swift resolution isn't provided. This outcome is undesirable, as I opted for a business account for improved functionality.

Paypal is country specific so if you move countries you have to close your old Paypal account and open a new Paypal account registered in the country where you now live. You would then need to add an address / phone number / bank accounts / cards from within that country.

You should really withdraw any funds / resolve issues / remove cards and bank accounts / cancel any subscriptions and close the old Paypal account before you move countries. If you don't then you may have problems doing so once you have moved and may need to contact customer services for help to resolve things.
