Getting paid for work on elance - Help please.

I am about to take on a full time freelance project through elance and will be getting paid over $500 a week.

I need some advice on the best way to go about getting the funds to my UK bank account and the cheapest. I have no idea how much im going to have taken off me in fees and I don't like the fact I can't work this out. 

Any advice.

I should note it will be us dollars and converting to pounds.
