PayPal Payment Pro with BigCommerce and API Problems

Hi All,
I am in desperate need of help.
I have a business PayPal account with API credentials. Two days ago I signed up for PayPal Payment Pro and was approved. So per the instructions here (https://cms.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/marketingweb?cmd=_render-content&content_ID=acct_setup/pro_integra...) I integrated PayPal Payment Pro with my website. When I tested the checkout portion of my website, I got the following message for the PayPal Express Checkout button: “An error occurred while connecting to PayPal.”
Then I tried the checkout process that is directly on my website and I got the following error message: “Your financial institution has indicated that it could not successfully authenticate this transaction. To protect against unauthorized use, this card cannot be used to complete your purchase. You may complete the purchase by selecting another form of payment or use a different card.” I tried 5 different cards and I still got this message.
When I contacted Big Commerce they sent me to this forum instruction ((https://support.bigcommerce.com/questions/1150/What+does+%22Security+Header+is+Not+Valid+10002%22+fo...)) on making sure I input the API credentials correctly. And I did, several times.
So BigCommerce told me to check with PayPal because this is API credentials issue. In the mean time, BigCommerce would create a ticket to see if there is something they can do on their end. I sent PayPal a question through the Merchant Technical Support but I have not heard from them yet.
Can anyone help or have any advice?
