USPS charged LESS than Paypal shipping label by a dollar on package less than a pound.

I used the eBay - PayPal shipping label, which was calculated at $4.90. I brought my box to post office and had them check everything to ensure this package would get to my customer okay. Come to find out - The postage you charged me printed on my label was $4.90 - at a weight calculated between 4-5 oz., which I paid.  The post office weighed my package and

I brought my box to post office and had them check everything to ensure this package would get to my customer okay.

They weighed my package and said it should only be 3.90 and stated, why are they overcharging you?   Plus she weighed my package at 8oz

The post office printed a shipping label for $0.00, as they scan the barcode on printed label.
I just paid an extra dollar to eBay/Palpal to ship sold items to a customer.  Overcharged?

Who helps you with this?  I also find it hard to contact a person to talk to.  Maybe it is me and I am missing something?  I know PayPal already took their fee out and so did eBay, so the extra charge can't be for that.

Thank anyone for advice.  For now, I guess I will just wait in line at the post office and ship it through them.  I can't afford to be overcharged for each item sold.

Weighing your shipment is your own responsiblity, not that of eBay and PayPal.  You apparently did not provide correct weights for the calculation.

I put less weight in on eBay for my items to be sent and the Post Office I physically went to actually weighed it in front of me at 8oz.  My items I weighed on my scale came to .97 +.31 + .37 + .98 and +51 in oz.  (just in case you think I can't use the scale, medical field 30 years, so it's not my scale)  I added and entered the total and the charge came up as 4.90.  So I said yes, please print shipping labels.

The Post Office is the person who weighed the entire wrapped packed box for shipment.  I was actually worried that I would owe something at first.   But it weighed 8oz and the charge from my Post Office was only 3.90
The post office could not figure out how that charge could be and I copied my receipts.

So she sent it with a new tracking number and stamped stating 3.90 on it.

I will phone eBay and see what they say.  Thank you all anyway for your help

$3.90?  I don't see $3.90 listed as a rate anywhere at USPS price list for an 8 oz package.  First Class Package is $2.60 for 8 oz and it goes as high as $3.65 for 15.999 oz. so that can't be it.

Not even Media Mail.  What service did you use?

I looked at all the service levels on this and don't find a rate that is $4.90 or $3.90

I have the receipt.  I sold on eBay and selected to have the shipping labels calculated and printed.  So when I wanted to print the shipping labels I paid 4.90 which in on my PayPal account - and on the printed shipping label

I have the receipt from the Post Office with a new tracking number I had to use.  This allowed the package to move forward with shipping because they could not read scan.  She weighed my package and it came to 3.90.  She did not charge me for that, as she saw my printed shipping labels from paypal on my package and it says 4.90 on the package being sent also.    That is why I had to enter a new tracking number also.

She did not charge me for that, as she saw my printed shipping labels from PayPal on my package and it says it on the package being sent also.

Wondering why this is?  It may be eBay that is charging me incorrectly or maybe I'm misunderstanding something.

I went physically to the Post Office and had them weigh it in front of me and my charge was 1.00 less to ship it there, than by printing a shipping label.  So I think eBay put the charge through to Paypal.  I have the receipt from the Post Office, showing the correct shipping amount of 3.90, not what was printed of 4.90

Sorry, I've been somewhat confused and hope to have this down, but it must be that eBay is not calculating correctly?

what you paid via Ebay includes tracking, but it should not be $1.,it is called DC delivery confirmation

the tracking number from the post office is not the same

there is first class letter and first class package and then there is parcel select which goes by zone, irregular shape is 20 cents extra,DC is also extra/

go back to the listing and try printing another label, enter the correct weight and choise of shipping and see what you come up with.

You dont seem to enter the correct weight, you use 4-5 ounces and USPS weighs it at 8-9 ounces.
