Add tip/gratuity option on invoice

I'd like to give my customers the option to leave a tip on top of the invoice total, but it doesn't seem to be possible. Is this true? (I've seen a few threads saying it is, but those are all at least 3 years old and I'm hoping things have changed since then.)

Please add this option.  

I thought when I clicked Payment button that I would get the ability to customize the amount.

Instead now I need to send a separate item to thank the vendor for their custom work.

This doesn't need to be a conversation about what you think of tipping. 

But just a recognition that for certain types of service a customer may wish to pay a custom amount. 

It shouldn't be this difficult.

They did.  Didn't you see the big banner announcing it across the Manage Invoices page?  I can't seem to get rid of the banner even. lol  One step forward, 2 steps back.

Now if only they can add it to PayPal buttons!

Do you mean when I might generate an invoice for a client, that I can now add the option to tip?

I meant even if I'm the customer, it'd be nice to have the option to customize the amount. Sort of a finalize payment screen where you can add an additional invoice item.

I'm assuming that's not live because I got the invoice from the merchant, click Payment and it went through. 

I didn't see any option to add an additional amount.

The merchant has to tick the "allow customer add a tip" option check box when they create the invoice.

Yes, they do allow this (I just used it today)
