Hi,
I run a small web-based retail business using PayPal payment buttons in my webshop.
Most of my customers are non-commercial and so rarely ask for an invoice. Occasionally, someone will buy an item on line using the PayPal payment buttons and then email me for a commercial invoice.
Is there some way of creating a PayPal invoice (in the usual way) but mark it as paid and, ideally, link it to the PayPal payment?
Regards, Martin Winlow.

you can prepare an invoice template, when you receive a payment notice, you can follow up with an email with attached invoice ,enter the detail informations for that order.
someone may have better ideas after they drink their first cup of morning coffee

Thankd for your help.
I was hoping I would not have to copy and paste all the information from the PayPal payment notification... unless you are suggesting there is a way I can use the existing invoicing system to do this automatically... and on one of my PayPal invices (with the logs etc)?
Regards, Martin.

Create an invoice through PayPal. Then you can record payment of the invoice and send to client as a receipt.
"Create a receipt for your customer

Occasionally you may receive payment from your customer before you create an invoice. To be able to give your customer a detailed receipt, create the invoice and save it as a draft. Then choose the 'Record payment' action on the invoice management page. You can print and deliver the paid invoice or choose “share link” from the Manage Invoices page to copy an invoice link and mail your customer the receipt."
Kudos & Solved are greatly appreciated. 🙂
