What is a 'cloud-based' provider? In English, would the new policy mean PayPal will be selling our persoanl information to foreign countries? What does PayPal mean by 'personal'? Our purchase details? our credit history? our social security numbers?  I can't find any PayPal answers to how 'personal' is defined.

They said nothing of selling information.  I take them to mean they are now using cloud-based servers.

They are notifying us of "the movement and processing of information to cloud-based service providers."

"We clarified that we use cloud-based service providers to store and process information which may include personal data. “Cloud-based” services means services that are based online and can be located in the US or anywhere in the world."

My concern is, is security in the cloud secure enough.

Kudos & Solved are greatly appreciated. 🙂

More and more companies are migrating to cloude service,AMZN is big,MSFT,GOOGLE are all  getting a piece of action.

FRom the company viewpoint,it saves them money operating their own data centers.

I am sure they all address security but there are always people trying and trying to attack these sites.

even with your own data center,it is not 100% safe, like those ransom cases, hackers invaded hospital computer, and hold patient files for ransom, hospitals have to pay them .
