Hi All!
I recently opened and legally registered a new company in Singapore and have a bonafide Singapore business bank account, and thus, wish to open a Paypal Singapore business account for my Singapore business
However, I live mostly in another country and when I go to the Paypal page, I'm redirected to the Paypal of my physical location. (I currently already have a Premier account for my 1st business in my physical location)
Questions:
1) Can I still open a Paypal Singapore Business account for my Singapore business, from physically outside Singapore?
2) Will Paypal's system consider it a "red flag" if I'm opening a Singapore Business account buy sees that I'm physically located in another country, and give me problems?
Thanks!

What?
You mean "you" (me) as an owner, right?
So you mean if a Singapore company like Breadtalk has one of the owners which is Malaysian, then they cannot open a Paypal account at all?
Company is a "private limited" with completely different personality and entity from "me" as a person. As the one setting up the payment system and opening the Paypal account I am simply located elsewhere.

Oh wait... do you mean I must be (physically located) "in" the same country?
So in that case I must fly into Singapore to open the account? (Or have my Singapore business partner do it, but I prefer to fly in and do it myself coz he's confused about computers)

search this board and read some of the problems indviduals and businesses run into ,and decide for yourself.
if you decide to go ahead, have a contingency plan or plan B,if your account is restricted up to 180 days or cancelled,or shut down with no appeal.
Not that it will happen to you,it may ,it may not,but always have a plan B.
We are just volunteer fellow members, our words are not Paypal's .
dont forget Paypal customer service is not the best, there is a HUGE BACKLOG of disputes, reviews of accounts, documents, etc so it will take a long time to review your case .

There is an Irish person who sells on UK website, she has an UK bank account and a good address in UK and her customers pay her in British pounds.
she open her Paypal account in UK but she is Irish and the local currency is Euro.
Recently Paypal restricted her account and ask her for documents like driver license, picture ID etc,but these documenst would all be in Irish,so she is having some problem convincing Paypal to unrestrict her account.
I know in USA,a person who opens a company with a tax Id would be asked to provide his SS number,a foreigner does not have SS number

Hi Folks! Just an update, I finally found the answer from Paypal (had a bit of a hard time finding it; but I finally did).
The answer is yes, foreigner can open a Paypal account for his corporation in Singapore, with the following requirements:
(Source: https://www.paypal.com/sg/webapps/mpp/confirm-your-identity)
That page has a lot of info, but here's an excerpt:
"I am not a Singapore citizen, but hold a Singapore PayPal account. Am I required to provide identification documents?
Answer: Yes. This procedure applies to all PayPal accounts, which list Singapore as the country of residence or incorporation."
(So a non-Singaporean can provide identity documents for verification of his/her Singapore-incorporated company).
*I do not know if the same procedure applies to Paypal in other countries; as this is for Paypal Singapore. But I would guess that it would be similar in at least *some* countries."
Hope it helps the community.
