I'm currently setting up a Paypal account for a nonprofit. Our members have requested that we offer payment processing online so we're trying to accommodate that. My understanding is that if the customer pays via bank account, there are no fees. But, if they pay via credit card, we pay reduced processing fees because we are a nonprofit. Is there a way that we can specify that the processing fees be passed on to the customer if they pay via credit card? We would, of course, let them know upfront that these fees are being passed along and they can opt which way to pay based on that information. We want to be able to offer this service but we can't afford to pick up the processing fees. Thanks for any help or advice you can offer.

As the recipient you pay a standard fee of $0.30 + 2.9% for all funds received as payment for goods/services.
You pay no fees for funds received as friends/family/gift.
You cannot know what fees sender are charged for their funding sources. Senders who use credit cards will pay a cash advance fee ; they should already know about cash advance fees. Senders of from cash funds pay no fees.

I'm not sure I understand what you mean as no fees on friends/family/gift.
I'm not concerned with the sender fees (cash advance, etc.) that you mention. I only want to recoup the fees we pay as the receiver.
My question is can I specify that the sender pay the receiver fees?
