PayPal Credit Accidentally Spent Balance

So I've just scheduled a payment towards my PayPal Credit and it was to come from my balance, now I just accidentally spent that balance on something else! My balance is now too low to make my payment.

Will it default to my other account/credit card linked to my account? I'm fine with it deferring to another method, I just want to ensure it goes through as I've never slipped up here before ^_^'' I do have the funds to cover it from another source.

How much time do you have before the scheduled payment?

Do you have enough time to transfer from bank?

I've never seen this problem before and I have no clue what might happen.  I've only specified paying directly from bank accoount.  I don't know if PayPal will go to backup funding for this as for a purchase or if the payment will fail.

If it is urgent I suggest you make an urgent phone call to PayPal (PayPal Credit) to find out.  You might be able to fix it if there is 2 days yet to go.

It's scheduled today, the mistake happened because even though I made the transfer for the same day, it still says "scheduled" while it's processing and incomplete. It's not urgent, and not a lot either ($30) but I was curious what to expect. Thank you for the suggestion! I'll see if adding to my balance will process before the payment goes through fully.

The worst case would be the payment fails and today is the expiration date for a promotional balance.  Thay would mean a lot of accrued interest--not likely for $30.

Luckily it's not near the end of my promotion period either. If it fails I can just redo it and watch my funds sources more carefully. Thanks again!

Hey there! I just did the SAME THING! (I paid my ebay seller fees with my balance, and now I don't have enough balance for the Paypal Credit payment I made) How did yours turn out? I see the responses, but I wonder how it actually turned out for you?

It took a few days to process but it defaulted to my linked bank account! No separate notification or warnings and such. So no problems in the end! PayPal must get these a lot to switch payment method with no trouble.

So if I made a $37 Paypal credit payment, and I only have $33 in the account (balance)..... it will just take $37 from my bank account (the default payment) or will it take $4 only?

It would take $37 from your bank account, and the $4 would remain in your balance. I had to double check because PayPal didn't show this detailing, but it did in my bank statements.

I do have enough in my bank acct, thankfully.... lol.... 

I wish they would take my balance and only get the REMAINDER from my bank, but whatevers. Haha.
