PayPal and Mint

Ever since enabling two-factor authentication in PayPal, Mint has stopped working and won't update the account. The error returned is "PayPal uses a security method that prevents us from adding it".

Not that this is surprising, as it stands, but why hasn't PayPal offered a work-around for the security enhancement? Specifically, other websites recognize that two-factor authentication will block normal Mint access so they offer an aggregate option. A new username and password with a different login website for Mint to use and gain access to update the account.

Does PayPal have a plan for offering this option to Mint? Both companies are huge and have a ton of users. There's no reason why PayPal users should have to sacrifice security (turn off two-factor) in order to get them to play nice with eachother. Very frustrating.

Totally agree on how frustrating!! There seems to be more and more lack of debugging before rolling out software updates. Their debugging is let the user community debug for us for a quicker rollout.

Mint supports a separate password for aggregation, it's done for Chase. PayPal, are you listening? I'm disabling 2FA until it's fixed.
