I live in the US and just sold some gear to someone in Canada. I had no idea that the PayPal fee is 4.4% + .03 when dealing international; everything I ever read was 2.9% + .03. I only asked for the buyer to cover 2.9%, so now I'm taking a hit of 1.5%. Thanks PayPal!!!!!

OR maybe read up on FEES before you start selling internationally.
Paypal clearly list them, the onus is on you to read that info like the rest of us do.

Your buyer could also be in US but using a foreign issued card or overseas but using a US forwarding company.

!@DC
I know he has a Canadian buyer, but I just want to tell him, there are other possibilities he would be paying 4.4% cross border transaction fee.
There is no way to tell unless he asks in advance before anyone purchases his product or refund and cancel the order or raise his asking price or shipping and handling to cover the extra fee.
