I've requested $from a few people (friends or family) and I keep getting a fee taken from the payment. I thought I was set up as Friends and Family, but I can't find where to see or check. Anyone help?

You have to ask the sender if they see an F&F option during checkout or just a checkbox for goods and services (not to tick the box, if so, for sending F&F payments).  I've never sent a money request for F&F this subject is a sort of mystery because on PayPal 's website, they eluded to being able to send F&F payments with money requests for free domestically with bank acct or PayPal balances but then in their FAQs, they say money requests are charged fees.

The alternative is to get yourself the PayPal.me link and set it to F&F which gives option for Goods and Services checkbox that senders tick off if the payment is for Goods and Services.  Or train your senders go to Send & Request page, click the Friends & Family option.

Kudos & Solved are greatly appreciated. 🙂

I originally requested, she paid, but I requested the wrong amount. She clicked unauthorized to stop the payment- I spoke with her today and she said PayPal Denied her claim of unauthorized and are going to withdrawl the money they already refunded her... she did end up paying me the correct amount already and that's where the issue comes in. She's going to get double charged. Is there a way to prevent that? $680 was paid, that's the correct amount-

Her name is Becca Henry. I'm not sure if you're able to look up her account? You will see what I mean. I cancelled the request, thinking it would delete it, but apparently that's not how it works either?

The only way to prevent the problem is to make the correct payment the first time.

The sender authorized the incorrect payment the first time so the sender loses that dispute.

Why are there 2 payments?

PayPal cannot fix problems created by sender or recipients.

Two payments because the first one was incorrect… She was not charged because it was disputed so she paid the correct invoice amount… Then she's been told the incorrect payment is going to be drafted

What is the current status of the first payment?  Has it been refunded?

You need to resolve the first payment issue.  Has the dispute been resolved and closed?  You won't know the final outcome until the dispute is closed.

You need to resolve the second payment issue separately.

Yes, just closed and denied. They refunded her originally now they're drafting again. I'll just refund when it's made. Wanted to avoid her getting dbl charged for financial reasons on her end. Thank u

if they pay with a card, whether it is debit or credit, there will be fee and card processing cost money.

I understand that, I requested and that's where the issue came in. The amount was incorrect (before the fee was taken) and that's what I need to make sure doesn't get drafted again from Becca's account! She said it was refunded or held originally,  then she got an email saying it was going to draft again because her claim of unauthorized was denied. That's how she tried to stop the incorrect payment. I requested the correct balance, in which she paid.
