What happens when you refund the buyer's payments?

Hi all,

I have recently started selling on eBay and I have to refund a buyer's payment, because the product I have put on sale is actually damaged and not in good condition. I found out when examining the product in details only after the sale completed on eBay.

I have 2 simple questions regarding refunding the buyer:

1) When I refund the buyer's payments, will PayPal refund the PayPal fees also? Or will PayPal take the "missing part due to the fees charged" from my account? Because the problem is that I currently do not have any extra money in my account!

2) Does PayPal charge me a fee when I refund a payment?

WHEN You issue a refund from the original payment,Paypal will ask you how much you want to refund,if you refund in full,paypal will give up its fee,some say it may keep the transaction fee ,but it has never happen to me.

you will see how much you refund and how much paypal refund before you confirm.

PayPal deducts an additional 30 cents from you towards the refund and keeps the flat rate portion of the PayPal fee while refunding the variable portion.

so we are talking 30 cents plus 30 cents= 60 cents?

For a full refund, the buyer gets the full payment as a refund.

For the seller, the % transaction fees are reversed back to the seller.

The fixed $0.30 fee is NOT reversed, meaning the net cost to the seller is $0.30 when the refund is completed.

PayPal refunds the commission and I pay only USD0.30!
