Hi,
I want to be able to chose my bank account on checkout, or have it as a default option when paying for goods and sending money to friends, since I don't want to incur charges. I have a big amount of money to switch over and rather than paying the charge as well, I want to have it free. Converting it doesn't help either.
I have a debit card linked and verified with my account as well. The card is the same one used for the linked bank account.
Can anyone help me with this? It doesn't give me the option to chose for the money to come out of my bank account.
Thanks 🙂

Is the bank account fully confirmed on PayPal? If the bank isn't confirmed you won't be able to use it as a funding source. Check 'Profile' then 'My Money' to see if the status of the bank account is confirmed.
However sometimes if a transaction is for a larger amount than you'd normall pay, PayPal can stop the use of a funding source.
The easiest and most secure way to get this payment to go through is to 'add funds' to your PayPal account and then transfer the money straight from the PayPal balance.
This will be instant and won't incur any fees providing there are no currency conversions or cross-boarder payments.
Hope this helps!

Thank you for the reply.
Yeah the bank account is confirmed, but I thought in order to be able to use it that it had to be verified?
Ah well. I might just transfer the funds into my Paypal balance. Though, I will have to incur conversion costs since I am paying from Euro into Pounds Sterling.
At least if I do it with my Paypal Balance I won't have the additional fee. Can I ask how long it will take for it to transfer from Bank into Paypal balance? Also is there a charge for doing so? I tend to never have money in my balance and normally just pay for goods instantly with my card.
Thanks again.

There is no charge to top up your account. If you transfer funds from your bank account as a payment from say online banking using the details in 'add funds' (sort code, Account number, customer service ID) then it will top up your account within a matter of minutes.
If you go the other route and request paypal to top up the account (this is the only option if you do it through the app) then that can take 5-7 working days, so the best bet is to go the bank or your online banking and send a payment from there!
When you confirm your bank account or visa card it automatically makes your account verified, this only needs to be done once even if you remove the confirmed financial.

Sorry to jump in here.
I have a verified bank account, i want to purchase something online and it says my card does not work or what ever,"
I have .22 in PP balance.
So i want to purchase stuff from my PP account with having a verifed bank account atached to it, can i just simply purchase like this or do i have to add funds?
If i do have to add funds, i just read your reasponce and stated that you can put money in your PP instanly from your Bank online by sending a payment.
How can i send a payment to my paypal account?

You will be able to make payments like normal from your bank automatically if there aren't enough funds in PayPal. In the checkout you'll see funding choices and it'll show you exactly where funds are coming from.
Here’s how to add funds:
- Log in to your PayPal account at www.paypal.co.uk
- Click ‘Add Funds’ near the top of the page.
- Choose to move money to your PayPal account yourself (almost instantly), or let us do it for you (in 5-7 working days).
But remember if there aren't funds in your PayPal account, PayPal will go into the next funding source available (confirmed bank) and automatically take a payment from there to make up the difference.
It doesn't cost any more and it's all automatic 🙂
