I just tried to make a purchace from American Eagle Outfitters. I used Paypal as my metheod of payment. I went through the process creating my shopping cart on their WEB site, then their site sent me to Paypal to make my pament. Afler Paypal returned me to the American Eagle WEB site I was informed by AE that there was an error placing the order. However Paypal has already billed my credit card. I called American Eagle to verify my order, but they did not have any record of my order. They said that the Paypal purchace would "drop off" on Paypals web site. Does anyone have any Idea how long this will take? When I try to file a dispute with Paypal, the tranaction ID I was assigned by Paypal is not recognized. Any Ideas what I should do next?
hey, since this was quite a while ago, and i'm having the same problem atm, i was wondering how it ended for you. i also ordered something but got an error at the end. Did you just have to wait untill you could cancel the payment? Because EA doesn't give me any confirmation that i ordered something, but my payment also says it's pending. Anyway, thanks
It all ended fine. I contacted AE and they verified that my order never went through. They were going to contact Paypal but I'm bit sure if they ever did as I never heard anything further from AE. After about 2 weeks I got an email from Paypjal that notified me that the transaction had been canceled. I also verified that there had not been a paypal charge in my Visa. I hope this helps.
