Long story short I ordered an item off a seller on ebay through the use of my visa debit card. Within hours of realizing my mistake for the wrong type of item I had ordered, I requested to cancel my order. The seller agreed and had said that the funds had been sent back to my paypal account. However it's been an hour and there's no history of recieving any amount of money. How long would it take? And what's the process behind this? Thanks!
Hi joshdtab. When u receive a refund u will receive a confirmation email from ppal. If u paid by card it could take up to 7 working days and go back there. If u paid with your ppal balance it should be instant unless the seller refunds u by echeque which will take longer and will go back there. U should also see in your eBay purchase page on the transaction it will show refunded. If u don't see either keep in touch and try to work it out with the seller if no joy then open an item not received dispute in EBay within 45 days of payment.
Did u pay as a guest? If not and u are an eBay member open a case on eBay for item not received if u don't receive it and are getting nowhere with the seller
Thanks for your replies and continous support. The money was sent back to my bank account. It's just that I was given no information or warning of the refund having been processed to my bank account or even paypal, as well as how it would be done, or how long. Just an email from ebay saying my purchase was cancelled. This scared me a lot, but anyways all is good now.
If you funded the original Paypal payment to the seller with a debit or credit card then it won't go back to your paypal balance.
Once marked as completed it will automatically go back to your bank account or credit card but takes up to a week to process through to the bank and a bit longer for a c.c (Paypal say allow 30 days but I have never waited longer than a week for mine, the last one taking 4 days).
