A seller can only issue a refund via funds in their paypal balance or an echeque.
So if its an echeque it has to clear through from the sellers bank account > paypal > and then it is credited to you and the hold lifted.

So those 2 refunds would have been funded by a sellers bank account and the other x1 would have been refunded by funds already in the sellers paypal balance.

If you funded the original paypal payment to the seller with a debit or credit card then it won't go back to your paypal balance.

Once marked as completed it will automatically go back to your bank account or credit card but takes up to a week to process through to the bank and a bit longer for a c.c (paypal say allow 30 days but I have never waited longer than a week for mine).

When my customers pay, it usually takes only a matter of hours before it shows up in my PayPal wallet. I transfer it out to my bank account, and that usually takes one business day. Weekends can add a couple of days. The time of day matters too because banks have their own routines and schedules. If you miss their cutoff time, it might take another business day. I have learned to be patient on the day a customer is supposed to pay and check later in the day. If I am waiting for a customer to pay before I take the next step, I will get them busy preparing their input for other parts of the process so that I can respond quickly once I see on PayPal that they have paid. I like to get my students started right away to give them the optimal opportunity to get their best score on standardized tests.
