Random card on my PayPal account?!

I was checking my PayPal transactions, and a recent transaction I should have paid for via my debit card was paid with a random, unknown card ending in a number I don't recognise.
Looking under my "preferred ways to pay" shows the card in my account (and only that card, not my actual debit card), however I did not add this card and neither did I get any emails saying I had made changes to my account, so I do not believe my account is compromised.
I have re-added my correct debit card to my account (although I have to go through the verification process again) and changed my preferred payment method back to this card, though one small payment has apparently been issued to that card - confirmed by the fact this transaction is not present on my bank statement.
Is this a technical glitch? Who can I talk to in order to resolve this issue?

Hi @SaCleoCheater,
I'm sorry about the trouble with an unknown card on the account. I recommend reaching out to us by clicking Help & Contact at the bottom of the PayPal page for assistance.
