SENDING MONEY TO BRAZIL

I want to send money to my girlfriend in BRAZIL.  PAYPAL is not accepting PERSONAL payments to BRAZIL at this time.  Another member of the Board suggested the following to get around it.

"At this time, Brazilian accounts can't yet accept Personal Payments - but if you switch over to a regular payment (don't select Personal as the reason), you should be able to get the payment to pull through."

My question is, however, what will she need to do at HER end to complete this transaction.  Does she have to have some sort of SELLER's ACCOUNT with PAYPAL or can she still receive money into her personal Bank Account.  Also, what fees are involved?  I assume she would pay the same fees that a MERCHANT does (2.9% I think it is plus .30 per transaction.

Any feedback would be VERY much appreciated, especially if you are someone who has sent money to BRAZIL in this manner.

Excellent question!

Your girlfriend will be able to receive that payment, regardless of her account type. Also, international sales in Brazil are subject to a 6.4% to 7.4% + R$ 0,60 fee per transaction while domestic sales are subject to a 5.4% to 6.4% + R$ 0,60 fee per transaction.

I was doing it when PayPal shut down my girlfriends account and when I called they said all she had to do was call because it was only restricted. When she called they were very rude and told her it was shut down "Forever" so we both called 3 times with different answers from PayPal like we were dealing with multiple personalities

Can you please confirm if the information you gave is correct?

I'm trying to send money to Brazil to my mum's account and it says you can't send to personal accounts, but you mentioned that it can be send regardless of the account type.

Would appreciate more clariffication on how to proceed.
