Alright, so first off, do you readers understand the process when you add your Bank Account?
When adding, it shows you an example of where the Routing Number and Account Number is, correct?
The BANK OF AMERICA checks are in DIFFERENT ORDER...
You have to log on BoA's website, check your Account Information and click
Account Details > Information & Services ...
You will see that it shows TWO Routing Numbers... One on the left is for CHECKS, one on the right is for ELECTRONIC transfers... and then your account NUMBER will be right above those two routing numbers.
The problem is, PAYPAL shows a picture of the an EXAMPLE check, and it shows as follows:
Routing Number --- Account Number --- (check number)
For Bank of America checks it shows as follows:
PAPER Routing Number ---(CHECK NUMBER) --- Account Number
As you can see, if you are NEW and you are adding your Bank Account, make sure to get your numbers FROM THE WEBSITE and NOT your PAPER CHECKS because it WONT WORK. It is very misleading and I think paypal should show examples of checks BASED on what BANK you are using.
ALSO make sure to VERIFY by letting paypal make small deposits, NOT by phone, because you never know if you put stuff down wrong.
The reason I post his is to help some people not encounter any issues because I believe I may have. I have bought 2 items on ebay 3 weeks ago, and my payments on paypal were marked "Complete" and I had 0 dollars on my paypal account, so they took it from my Bank Account (Which I KNOW would happen) BUT, up till now, it NEVER got deducted from my account!
I contacted the sellers, and they said they "RECEIVED them completed..." and I'm a little scared now... All I was doing was following PAYPALS directions on where to find your Routing/Account numbers on your CHECKS, and since I was a bit nieve when it comes to ONLINE Bank transactions, I put the numbers FROM MY CHECK when it was COMPLETELY WRONG...
Question:...I entered the numbers on my check. but WHAT IF it was numbers coming from someone elses bank, considering it was in the wrong order? Is that possible? I deleted it, made sure its gone, put in the Routing Number FROM BoA's website and not MY PAPER CHECK, verified it by PayPal transactions, and it showed the deposits they made...
As far as where the money got transfered from to the sellers...
That's something I'm trying to find out right now, or how to fix it because I'm afraid that I might get accused of fraud. I entered the numbers ON MY CHECK, SPECIFICALLY to how the examples were shown by PayPal...
