Bank Account Not a Payment Option on Ebay?

Hello!

Recently I won an item on ebay, and wanted to purchase it with the funds directly from my bank account. However, when I go to checkout and select Paypal as my payment option, it tells me to add a debit card immediantly. Sadly I don't have a debit card for my bank checking account.

Why cant I just pay directly from my bank without having to add a debit card? It does not even show it as an option anywhere on ebay. The bank account works because I tested it by sending a donation to a charity from my bank account funds. If the charity was able to pay with my bank account, why can't Ebay? Again it dosn't even show it as an option!

Note: I do have enough funds in the bank for the item. The bank account is a checking account.

If its not showing as an option then first check that the direct debit mandate is correctly set up and still valid in your online banking.

Also have you ever had a failed transaction recently from your bank account OR a negative balance.

If all is ok then sometimes paypal like you to have a back up funding source linked to your paypal account as well, a debit or credit card should be fine.

The bank account is confirmed and Paypal has deducted money from my bank account before. I have not had any recent failed transactions, nor have a had any negative balance.

It must be that the only source of payment I have is my bank account. Still, I don't have a debit card to be linked to Paypal. Also, I donated to charity via Paypal to test if the transaction will go through, and it says it did. However, Paypal still hasn't deducted the amount I gave to charity from my bank account. Could that be the reason why I cant use the account as a payment method? Do I have to wait till it isn't a pending payment anymore?
