Hello!
So today I got 1 cent from paypal on my bank account and used the code that was sent with it to activated the bank account on my paypal account. Everything worked fine.
But now when I try to pay anywhere (it's not just on one website), it says that it doesn't work right now and that I should go back to the store website. Why? My bank account is activated and it should just take the money from my bank account instead of my paypal account right?
What can I do? Or do I just have to wait because paypal didn't really finish the "linking" with my bank account yet (even though it says it's activated)?
PS: I'm german so I hope you can understand what I mean...
Thanks!

As this is a member to member help group, no one here can view or access user account information. However, we can share with how PayPal will use your various funding sources. If you have additional concerns, it would be best to follow-up with customer support.
PayPal will first look at your PayPal Account balance, if you have insufficient funds, PayPal will then take the funds from your Bank Account. PayPal will do an instant transfer from your bank account assuming you have a current linked and confirmed credit card. If the card is not current or no card, then the transfer from your bank account to pay for the purchase can take a few days, possibly up to 4.
If you have a credit card and no bank account, then the credit card will be used. This all happens assuming you don't elect to choose a funding source. Note, If you have both a bank account and credit card, you can choose to pay with your credit card on the PayPal Checkout screens by using the pay with another source option. There you can select your card from the dropdown.
It is possible to pay using the funds in your Account balance and the remainder with a credit card however, you must first elect to pay with your credit card. Your available balance will be used up and the remainder is charged to your card. As this now looks like you've sent a single payment, you remain eligible for Buyer Protection. You would not be eligible for Buyer Protection, if you paid for the item with two separate transactions.
What you cannot do is split a single payment between 2 bank accounts, 2 credit/debit card accounts or a bank account and a credit/debit card account. In addition, you cannot split a single payment between 2 PayPal accounts.

Nice, again an answer that has nothing to do with my question.
I just opened my account and didn't pay ANYWHERE (because I can't). I don't have anything that I have to pay, I simply just can't pay ANYWHERE. I was just asking if someone had a similar problem like me, or if someone has an idea what I have to do.

Log in to your PayPal account and click on the "View Limits" link on your PayPal Account Overview page to see what limits you have and for instructions on how to lift the limits.

I think you mean is that you're somewhere like bestbuy.com and when you're checking out you use the PayPal option as payment, correct? Well, do you have a credit/debit card linked? If not, it just won't work. Even if the next page would load, it would simply tell you that you would have to have one of those linked to your account. You can't just simply have a bank account linked to the account because you're wishing to pay using paypal and have the money deducted from your bank account. I know, it's really stupid.
I hope I understood your question correctly, I know I nailed it better than these complete idiots above me. Good lord, those answers literally had NOTHING to do with your question... like NOT EVEN A LITTLE BIT. People are so freakin stupid it blows my mind. That novel one was halarious... he told you everything EXCEPT the answer to your question. HA

The second response was mine... it instructed the OP to check his account limits to see if he has a spending limit which would prevent him from sending any payments.
A brand new account which has not yet provided PayPal with sufficient information may have a zero sending limit, and the "View Limits" page will tell the OP what he needs to do to lift the sending limit. If the OP needed to add a credit card to his PayPal account, the "View Limits" page would have explained this.
Are you sure that German PayPal accounts must have a credit or debit card linked before they can send any payments?

So, I have more/less the same issue here. I linked my bank account to my paypal, it's confirmed and verified. I can't link my debit card to paypal (i don't know why, but that shouldn't be the issue, right?). I wish for paypal to just use my linked bank account as funding resource.
BUT, when I try to send money, it keeps asking for a card. Why? Why can't it just send it from my bank account like it said it could? Why should i link my bank account anyway if it keeps asking for a card?
Anyway, i tried to link my debit card but it can't accept it, maybe because mine is Vpay.
How should i proceed with this? Thanks

Having the same problem here. Was able to pay at Blizzard but it doesn't work anywhere else and keeps asking me for a credit card. I know it should work without one my dad also uses Paypal with just his bank account and for him it works fine
