Can i send and receive money with a Tunisian Paypal Account ?

Hello PayPal Team & Community,

These days our gouvernement decided to lift all the restrictions on sending or receiving money via PayPal so i would like to ask if the service is already available for us from Tunisia to start receiving money (we were able to ONLY send money from a Tunisian PayPal account) 

So i created a tunisian paypal account today and i wonder if we can do it

Hey ilyes , i'm also Tunisian i have a verified Paypal Account since 2013 but  right now we can just send payments maybe in the next days this limits will be removed by paypal and we hope this because we need like this service in our country 🙂

yeah i was dealing with paypal from a long time but not with a tunisian paypal .. so if paypal lift the limits from tunisian paypal account that would be so helpful 🙂

We appreciate your interest in receiving money with PayPal in Tunisia! As you both mentioned, at this time Tunisian accounts can only send money. We're always looking for ways to expand more features to more of our customers around the globe!

I'm trying to get definitive information about the ability of a Tunisian PayPal user to send money to me (US PayPal user).  She wrote me "Last year the PayPal was introduced in Tunisia, but again due to the crisis, and specialy after the revolution, the tunisian currency is constantly depreciating. Therefore international transactions, needs an approval from the Tunisian Central Bank. This procedure takes weeks".  From what I can see in the PayPal offerings page and other comments here it seems that Tunisian users should be able to send money to the US.  Is what she calls an international credit card required (which she says can only be obtained by business men or individuals with high income) or can she use a local credit card or bank account to fund the transfer? The amount of the transfer would be $600 (US Dollars).

Great question! Regrettably, I'm not sure what the criteria would be for a Tunisian customer to obtain a credit or debit card. I can tell you that with PayPal, Tunisian customers can use credit or debit cards to send money as long as the card has a Visa, MasterCard, American Express or Discover card logo on it.
