How does it work to send $ to Indonesia?

I want to send some money to a divemaster in Indonesia as a tip because I wasn't able to give it to him before I came home to the US.

I've never done this before so want to know how it will work.  Will he get an email telling him to go somewhere to get the payment? What then?

You would send it to his paypal account balance and he could then withdraw it to his card or bank account attached to that paypal account.

If he does not have a paypal account then you can still send it to his email addy but he would have to open an account with that email addy to accept it.

If he does not have a paypal account then why not use western union or moneygram instead??
