I have a large group of family and friends who are all jointly going to an event which requires a fee. Rather than collecting money individually, I want to send them a money request so that they can send their money to my paypal account using their credit card (without their having to have a paypal account themselves as some do not). It seems that the only way to do this may result in a fee per transaction. Any way to avoid this as this would qualify as a "family and friends" transaction?
Invoices and money requests are sent by sellers to buyers and so you pay a fee.
The only way to send a "personal payment" is by the person that is sending the money clicking on the family / friends option and sending it that way. BUT it is only free if they fund it from funds in their paypal balance OR instant bank transfer.
If they fund it via a debit or credit card then they pay a fee or can pass that fee on to the receiver.
