So I have been selling virtual coins lately and have probably done a little over 50 transactions. Some of my friends have warned me about only acceptigift he payment in the form of a gift, so before every deal I say I prefer gift, some say ok, some say no, so I am always very nervous when they say no! Any ways, the deals vary, it can be as small as $10 to as large as $2,000 so the bigger the deal, the bigger worrie I have. Up until yesterday only 1 person has requestmoneyed money back, which I was scared of, but I won the case some how which surprisbe me because friends all said I would not, though they said the reason I won "automatically" is because other deal was for virtual goods and recently PayPal made it to were for virtual goods the buyer has no protection. Any ways, about 5 hours ago I sold the guy virtual coins/chips for $1,000. My friend warned me saying just be careful because he is not exactly the best known buyer/seller. I got the money, I gave him his goods and I was on my way. About 10-15 minutes later I notice the $ was missing from my account, I came back saw he opened a case and well explained my case. I then called PayPal (which I had to 45 minutes just to reach agent!) and explained my case and after 5 minutes or so they said it was all over and the funds would be released. I knew this was because it was for virtual goods. So I came back to see that the money was once again even though they said it was all over and I safely had the money! it said I had to answer this chart, and the only answer I could do without giving back the money or lying and I said I gave a refund already (to sum it up, it said I could give a refund, prove I gave a refund, or say everything was a lie and give more proof) , I honestly have no clue what any of this meant, so I said give more proof and that something not the truth. I replied saying I gave all proof before and honestly there is nothing else, I tried to find more proof but nothing. It's virtual stuff so I thought this would be easy like last time and that I wouldn't have to go through all this 2 times for 1 problem!! It says give them until January 31st, 2013! I'm not waiting that long for something that should be mine now! I'm definitely not calling again after it took 45 minutes the first time! What can I do? Why is PayPal doing this? They said they do not have buyer protection for virtual goods, yet they are breaking their rules? That's bull!! Please help me out! I'm mad! This stopped me from buying something because now I cannot afford it! What a terrible way to start off the new year!!!

It's not advisable to try doing business transactions by using the feature intended for sending money to family and friends. You may end up having your account locked for good.

Perhaps next time, send a money request and mark as a service.

What? So after your call with PayPal saying that you won the case, the money was once again on hold?

P.S. My ipad kept autocorrecting every other word for some reason so sorry for errors!
So it seems that even though PayPal said you won the case on the phone, it was not reflected in the dispute transaction? Sorry but you need to get back on the horn with PayPal and have them close the case manually for you. If you can get on the phone and have your PayPal account opened on your iPad or laptop so you can see realtime any updates made. For a $1000, I would stay on the line for another 45 mins. 🙂 I mean why the hell not? lol
Its pretty crazy to hear that people have to wait on the phone this long. I remember calling once, got the call code and everything and they took my call in no time and hooked me up and what they needed to do was reflected on my account instantly as I has my account opened on my laptop while on the phone.
Kudos & Solved are greatly appreciated. 🙂
