Issues with PayPal credit

Hello,

I signed up for PayPal credit last month and have been having some major issues and the people at PayPal and at the credit service are giving me conflicting information.

I appear to not be able to use my PayPal credit on Etsy, even though the sellar has it as an option, When my girlfriend logs in to her account it lets her use it, but I can't use mine. Also I have an invoice in my account for $500 that I would love to pay but its not allowing me to use Paypal credit as an option their either. I also just tried using the send money option, but again, Paypal won't let me choose credit, but on my girlfriends account she is allowed to do this.

I called the credit servicer and was told that you can't use PayPal Credit to make any personal purchases...but isn't that all purchases? I asked for clarification on this and got nothing. I also called PayPal and spoke with a supervisor but they have no idea why this isn't working and insist it should work.

I was wondering if anyone here had any advice or had a similar problem?

Thanks!

There are variations in allowable purchase locations and there are automatic security models PayPal uses (details never disclosed) for each purchase.

I only have experience with international purchases.  I can use the promotional option for one and not for another, but both are PPC.

From what I saw posted early, you should be able to send money from PPC for goods/services, but not friends/family.

From experience it takes persistance to reach a knowledgeable customer service person--and it needs to be PayPal Credit not the regular PP customer service.

When looking at your girlfriends account are there any differences in purchase history, credit limits, resolved disputes, purchases/sales.  There might be differences that cause a stop.

Did she sign up in advance or just as part of a purchase.

I think I read somewhere that how one signs up could make a difference with those who sign up as part of a new purchase having more success, compared to those who sign up before making a purchase.

Just guessing with some ideas, but no solution.
