Registering credit card

Hello,

When I try to add a credit card to my PayPal account I get the message:-

'That card number is already registered with PayPal. Please enter a different number.'

This is confusing as I do not have the card registered with this or another account.

I have tried empting the browser cache and rebooting but there is no change.

Any suggestions you have would be appreciated,

Peter M.

Have you ever had another paypal account that your card may have been linked to? Even one that is now closed?

Or has a partner etc?

Hello Kernowlass,

No, I don't think  it has never been registered in another PayPal account but perhaps it has been, I'm not sure.

My wife has her own account and it is not registered there. If it has been registered in the past and removed how do I ' wipe the slate clean' and get the card registered now? I really want to use this particular card.

Thanks for your help,

Peter M.

If you contact customer services they can help you "trace" any old accounts and remove the card from it, if that is the problem.

>>>

Click on the words "Contact" at the bottom of your paypal account summary page and use the phone option (if there is one in the country you are in) > click on the "call us" option on the left (fees "may" apply so check the cost with your phone tariff first, as you sometimes have to wait a while to connect).

When you get through don't select any options just hang on till you get transfered to an agent or say the word "agent".

OR have you considered contacting Customer Service via Facebook or Twitter?

You can send them a personal message from their facebook or twitter pages.

It's: https://www.facebook.com/PayPal and @AskPayPal for Twitter.
