I used paypal to make a payment to Southwest Airlines. When returned to the airline page I was given a message "oops there were unavailable funds in your account ... Please make sure..." Anyway. PayPal sent me a receipt and shows a $322 payment to the airline. But the airline didn't secure a reservation for me. I can't cancel the payment. And yet southwest has no record of the payment so they can't refund it because I don't have a ticket confirmation. What can I do?
When you pay a company rather than an ebay seller or individual then it is always pending until that company processes your order and captures the pending payment.
If they do not process your order (because something went wrong on their web site and they did not receive it) then they can't capture the pending payment.
So if its not captured by day 30 post payment it is credited back to you.

or maybe the Pending Payment hasn't actually been withdrawn? I guess I don't acutally see a red - sign by a $ amount, so perhaps my money is NOT in limbo. which means everything is okay.
