Transaction Confusion!

Hello!

So basically me and my friend had some confusing when sending money to each other.

Basically, he sent me $50 CAD, I sent him $50 USD then he sent me $50 CAD. What exactly does "Held" mean?

Anyway, so now my balance is $24 AUD and his is apparently $3 CAD.

I'm pretty sure I started with about $24 AUD, but he started with more than that obviously, since he sent me $50 at the very start.

Can someone please explain what happened, if I give him money then I'll lose money, but he already has a lot less than what he started with!?!??
