Understanding Paypal CSV reports

I downloaded report for all transactions in past 3 months in CSV format. The report has a "Type" and a "Status" column. Type column has either "Web Accept" or "Payment" value. Status column has either "Pending" or "Completed" values.

For each customer who made the payment, there are at least two rows with values in "Type" and "Status" column. One row is "Web Accept" for "Type" and "Completed" for "Status" column. The other row has "Payment" in "Type" column and "Pending" or "Completed" value.

For some customers there are three rows with "Payment" / "Pending" and "Payment" / "Completed" rows.

For one customer its only "Web Accept" / "Completed" and no "Payment" rows.

For another customer there is only "Payment" / "Pending" and no "Web Accept" rows.

For some customers there are three rows with "Web Accept" and "Completed".

What entries should I be looking at to ensure that the payment is received and confirmed ?

Are there any docs that explain the meaning of generated columns ?

Cheers
Arun

Hi Arun,

Type column indicates the activity/transaction type. For e.g. The row with "Web Accept" for "Type" and "Completed" for "Status" is a payment received through a BuyNow button. For your requirement, try using the filter "Comma Delimited - Completed Payments" while downloading the CSV file from History -> Download History page.

If you have a premier or business account, you can access the summary reports (Financial Summary Report or Sales Report) which will give you the money movements summary for the whole month or for the selected date range. Please find more information about these reports here.

I have found one more guide - have a look at the "Download History" section in it.
