Webact text scam

Hi

I received a text suppossedly from Paypal stating that an amount of 320.12 was going to be taken from my acount by a company called Webact Limited.  I foolishly clicked on the link and completed all the details, including bank details before I realised that it was not from Paypal.  I have now blocked my bank card, credit cards  etc.  Is there anything else I need to do.  i have also contacted Paypal too. I feel such a fool as they now have my dob , home address etc.  Can they use this for an identity fraud or are they just after my bank account and money ??

thanks for any information you can give.

I'm so glad I found you! Just got off the phone to mum - she'd received the same text. Luckily she thought to call me rather than follow up the scam herself. Problem avoided.

I received the same message, only on my mobile and not my computer, dated yesterday at 18.20.  As I have had no dealings or heard of this Company, I just chose to ignore it.  I knew it was not from Paypal or ebay, these companies always open with your name at the start of their communications.  It is worth remembering this for future notifications.

Just had the same text, You sent a payment for 320.12 GBP to WebAct Limited. If you didn't authenticate this transaction click here. Really thought it was real but I checked Paypal first then realised it was a scam! Where do they get our personal information from? Time to change mobile number I think and I advise others to do the same.

My last internet provider was talktalk, whilst being tied into a contract with them, I was assured that none of my information was amongst that which was scammed,  I have now changed provider but have had a couple of attempted scams on my mobile.  I sometimes wonder if other scammed paypal users were with talktalk?

I had the same messages but didn't even click on the link, if by any chance they have got all your details I. E dob etc etc it might be worth you getting what is called cifas cover from experience it's about £20 for a years cover but is well worth having, as my partner has been receiving all kinds of fraud in her name, and every time some one tries to take anything out in our name we receive either a letter to say that some one has tried to take anything out in our name, so yes I would recommend taking the cover out.. hope that helps
