What IS my sort code and WHERE is it???

If I'm the one receiving money and the payer wants my sort code, why can't they just transfer to the email address associated with my account?  They are an online magazine, I'm sure they are reputable, but if the sort code is a bank account number, I'm not sure they need that, do they?

I've had other transfers to my account from individuals and companies in the UK go through without needing a sort code.  Help!!

All someone needs to pay you is your paypal email address.

OR get a paypal.ME and send them a link.

I did give them my paypal email address and it DID arrive in my paypal but it said I had to accept the transaction.

Fine.

I clicked the link in the email to go into my paypal and accept the transaction and this is what it said in a yellow header on the top of the page:

History

Error Message

Invalid or missing transaction ID. Please select again.

There was nothing else I could click on and it wouldn't let me accept the payment, so the payment had to go back???

She's asking me for my sort code, but this says transaction and I don't know what more info I need to give beyond my email address???????????
