I'm selling an account for an online game. The only trouble is, once i send the purchaser the account's information, the account is his, he will have all the information to the account and be able to recover it if anything should happen to it. Now this leaves me with the issue, that if i recieve the money, and sometime in the next month he decides to try and dispute the transaction, is there a way i could show or have proof that the transaction was completed and that he was given what he was paying for? I've done this in the past and had bad luck with people disputing their payments and i end up losing the account and the payment. Those were just small payments ranging from $25-50 but the one i'm trying to sell will be $150-200 and i'd rather not lose that. So is there any way to let paypal know that the transaction was completed or should i just stick to local buyers only?

Hi Jewellracing!
The concerns that you have are very valid. I hope my information will help you navigate a little better.
Every sale carries some element of risk, regardless of the payment method. Use of PayPal mitigates a lot of that risk, but in a situation where virtual items are being sold, the risk cannot be completely removed.
PayPal's preventative security measures drastically reduce the likelihood of the use of stolen financials, but there are times when unauthorized use can only be identified after the fact, when a report has been filed by the victim of the theft. In a circumstance where a seller of virtual goods is paid in potentially stolen funds, the seller may experience loss.
Another thing to consider is that some online game companies prohibit the sale of accounts in their system. If you're still playing that game under other accounts, they may all be at risk if the game's Terms of Service are violated. As a gamer myself, I do remember stories of guildmates and other players whose gaming accounts were acted upon for that reason. I'd recommend double-checking the rules before proceeding.
I hope it all works out well for you. Oh, and if you're still gaming, I wish unto you the finding of many epic items! 😉
