How to "Contact Seller Through PayPal"?

Hi Folks,

I need to ask a seller about the status of an order.  The transaction page says "If there's a problem, make sure to contact the seller through PayPal."  How does one do that?  I see the seller's email and can contact them via regular email -- I am not asking how to do that.  I'm looking for the specific steps/links to use here on PayPal.

Thanks,

Shawn

sharpiemarker:  "If you sent a payment, there should be a PayPal email address for you to contact your seller on the transaction details page of the payment in your activity page."

No, there was no "PayPal email address" for me to contact the seller.

sharpiemarker:  "Did you receive a PayPal email notification for the purchase?"

Yes.

sharpiemarker:  "Perhaps the email address is found there?"

No.

I was not looking for "a" way to contact the seller, because (quoting from my first post):  "I see the seller's email and can contact them via regular email -- I am not asking how to do that.  I'm looking for the specific steps/links to use here on PayPal" to use the process where (again quoting from my first post) "The transaction page says 'If there's a problem, make sure to contact the seller through PayPal.'"

To repeat yet again, I had the sellers email, but PayPal said "'If there's a problem, make sure to contact the seller through PayPal."  "THROUGH PAYPAL" -- that was the crux of the issue, as I saw no way to contact the seller "through PayPal" other than via the dispute process, which I have repeatedly said I was not initiating.

Either there is a non-dispute method to "contact the seller through PayPal" or there isn't.  Well, is there a non-dispute method to "contact the seller through PayPal," and if so, what is it?  If there isn't, PayPal needs to remove the erroneous verbiage.

There isn't.  Only way is through PayPal email address of the merchant.  To contact merchant through resolution center is opening a dispute and putting the money you paid on hold.  Even the link/steps show that you're opening a dispute, not casually communicating with the merchant.

If you're just asking a question, you send email, you shouldn't open a dispute to do so.  PayPal 's wording is indeed wrong.

Kudos & Solved are greatly appreciated. 🙂

I agree the instruction to contact seller through Paypal is very misleading. I have been searching for an hour or more before I found this string via Google.

PP has just closed a dispute because the tracking on a parcel has expired due to the extreme time it has been on the way back to the seller.

I refused delivery when it arrived crushed after 4 weeks from sending (via DHL), so was retuirned to the seller.

I'm told to contact the seller through PP, but there obviously is no way to do this, except open another dispute.

The seller did not respond to my emails when the parcel was late, which is why I opened the dispute.

I'm trying again to contact him, but looks like I'll have to open anothr dispute soon.

Dear StuckinFrace,

I totally agree with your comments on this one. PayPal doesn't make it easy for you to contact the seller through their system, because it seems they don't want to be informed of the details of the transaction, which I find quite negative, because it´s necessary, especially when the seller doesn´t reply to e-mails and one as the buyer needs to address situations that are very disputable.
The bad thing is that now Paypal wants to consider the case closed, when the dispute I initally was complaining about has nothing to do with my newer dispute over the product not complying to the specifications made at the moment of purchase, and/or the descrption as well as functionality of the item.

Hopefully, more buyers can complaint about this, so Paypal improves the service.

Hi PayPal Community or PayPal Customer Service Team,

Yes I have one or two days left out of my 180 days Customer Protection on one of my purchases, and I feel my argument is not being addressed and I feel I'm being cheated out by the seller´s false claim. He sells a single board computer that should run two Operating Systems, Microsoft Windows 10 and any Linux distro, but yet he doesn´t provide any documentation on his website about any Linux image, as other single board computer manufacturers do.

This seller is selling an unfinished product, sure it can run Windows 10, but because it comes pre-installed, but he hasn´t provided any resources to back this claim. I bought this product, the Latte Panda to run Ubuntu, and yet this is not available, even almost waiting 180 days.

I need help PayPal, I need the links to be able to upload my evidence. Customer support contacted me about this, but they don´t provide any links to wha they mention, I can´t find what they claim.

I feel cheated out PayPal.

Sincerely,

Doryan

Doryan,

You really should start a separate thread stating your issues.  It's likely that posting in this thread will cause your issues to be overlooked because:  1)  This thread is old, and 2) Your issues are different than the one I brought up when I started this thread.

Good luck!

Yes, this thread is about uploading evidence.  Other topics would be ignored.

"Yes, this thread is about uploading evidence."

Nope, it isn't.  As stated in by the thread title and the entire discussion up until TheIconoclast/Doryan made his post on 3/4, it's about how to contact a seller through PayPal.
