Ordered iPhone through PayPal credit - Apple can't verify (my up to date) details on PayPal

Hello people, hoping somebody can be of some assistance before I give PayPal a call

I preordered the new iPhone last Friday, and chose to purchase through monthly instalments on PayPal credit.

I received an an email from Apple stating they cannot verify my PayPal details, yet all my details on here are 100% up to date - it even says so on my account overview.

Here is is a part of the email for reference:

"We are ready to process your order but we have encountered an authorisation issue. To prevent any further delay to your order, please log into your PayPal account to ensure all your details have been updated and are correct.

Your order will only be processed once we have obtained an authorisation on your account."

I am hoping to get this resolved as the email also warns that if they cannot rectify this issue within 6 days, the transaction will be cancelled.

Thanks for your time

Jack

You probably need to call PayPal customer service.

I'm not sure you can use PayPal Credit for installment purchases; I think you need to use PayPal.

PayPal Credit allows promotional purchases, so there would be no need to installment pruchase.  Just buy with the promotional rate and pay off 6 months later with no interest.

Thanks for the response But I believe you can, as I purchased my last iPhone through the same system. Hoping PayPal return my email this evening. In failing that - i will be giving them a call

A simple PayPal Credit purchase is not the same as a purchase as installment charges to the account?

Is this a simple purchase or an installment plan where Apple will divide the purchase price iinto installment charges to PayPal Credit?  I understood the question to be about installment charges by Apple to your account.

Was this to be the PayPal Credit easy payment plan where payments are divided into substantially equaly payments?

Details about the options which were presented to you at purchase time and the option you selected are imporntant.

What where the options?

What did you select?

I believe it's just a payment plan spread out over 18 months - I'm pretty sure the only option I had was choosing how long the payments will be taken over I'm just quizzed why I've been told my details aren't up to date, yet they all appear to be according to PayPal

Are you using a computer or other device?

Have you ever been late on a PayPal Credit payment?

There could be various issues related to authorization.

We don't have access to anything about your account.  All you can do is review your financial situation and activity to try to figure out the probem  OR you could just Phone PayPal Credit and ask.

Gave PayPal a call The issue is that my credit limit is £800, and I have outstanding balance where a payment hasn't yet been cleared, meaning I haven't got the £699 credit needed for the phone. It's a case of waiting for the payment to be processed - according to the agent that I spoke to. But I'm a little bemused as the payment is showing cleared on my PayPal credit, and it was paid with my PayPal balance last Thursday I will be making another call this evening
