PayPal Keeps withdrawing money from my account?

Recently I THOUGHT I made a payment to eBay by debit card. But the transaction didn't go through since I had insufficient funds in my account but wasn't notified. Then eBay went behind my back and got PayPal to withdraw the funds behind my back and didn't notify me again. PayPal took 28.00 out of my account and the total was for $37 dollars. Now PayPal took another 28.00 from my account and overdrafted my account. I would've been able to move money around if either company notified me, but nobody did. This isn't acceptable from either company and absolutely infuriating that this is happening.

Curious, did PP take funds from your bank and other linked funding sources or from your PayPal Balance?

Kudos & Solved are greatly appreciated. 🙂

Were the 2 $28 transactions registered as going into your PayPal account?  Do the show on your PayPal activity list?

Neither of the transactions are recorded in my PayPal account. Both charges only say something like PayPal/withdrawl.

I see.  Do you have automatic payments set up as well as the backup in your eBay account settings?  And did you also sign up to have funds deducted from your PayPal account?

I am looking at the eBay policies and no where does it say they will notify you in such cases, they just go ahead to your back ups/funding sources you have given authorization for them to charge payment and it is automated.  Gotta watch these people like a hawk all the time.  You know a bill is coming due, make sure you have the funds to cover it since they automate the payments.  If they double charged, let eBay know: http://contact.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ContactCS

You can also make a one time payment, but do it 5 days before the automated payment is supposed to happen, then you won't be charged.

A good thing to do is set up account alerts with your bank if you use online banking.  Any activity posted, you get an email.  Same with credit cards too.  That might give you a heads up of a problem, that might get worse.

Kudos & Solved are greatly appreciated. 🙂

I checked my PayPal account and it says I paid 37 dollars. And on my bank I paid 2 28 dollar charges. Should I dispute the charges? And will PayPal continue taking out 28 dollars? This is so confusing because it makes 0 sense.

Your answer provided important information about the 2 $28 charges.  You state that the $28 acocunt were not in your PayPal account, meaning PayPal dis not take the money.   I think PayPal made 2 attempts at withdrawing the $37 funds from your bank account but, due to insufficient funds, the transfers failed.  The bank then charged you $28 for each of the overdraft attempts.

As for the NSF fees you would need to contact your bank and try to get the fees waived.

I don't think you mentioned specifically, but I assume your PayPal acocunt is now negative because the $37 was paid to the seller.

My PayPal account is still at 0.00. And I don't understand why my bank would take out money. The first time PayPal made a withdrawal they took out 28 dollars and I didn't get overdrafted so I couldn't have an overdraft fee and the second time they took it did become overdrafted.

Also looking over my banks terms of service they do state that it is only a $15 overdraft charge. So I don't know if PayPal has a $28 dollar thing or what?
