PayPal deliberately delays bank transfers now

PayPal always transferred money into your account within 24 hours. Now, on large sums, they delay this "for security reasons" for up to 5 days. This is very bad business. Now I just state in my acutions that using PayPal for large purchases can cause a hold funds delay of up to five days and am going to offer the option of money order for faster service. This is ridiculous on PayPal's part. Just discourages buying and seling on Ebay.

if you do not ship or ship promptly with tracking,Paypal could hold the payment up to 21 days,I have seen 30 days and you win a reputation of slow shipping,so it makes the situation worse for you.

Buyer paid and expect prompt shipping from seller, you have goods on hand, what is the reason for not shipping promptly>

if you dont have the goods on hand and need fund to buy from manufacturer or distributor, get a line of credit from the bank.

If these are Ebay auctions, you can only use either your own merchant account or Paypal, unless it is cash on local pickup.

Ebay considers this talk of sending cash or money order a violation and could have you suspended from selling on EBay.

if you are slow in shipping, buyer could file item not received or give you negative feedback for shipping.

WORSE,he could get his money back while your item is still in transit.

if you sell high ticket items,Paypal discount rate of 2.99-4.4% is high, why not consider getting your own merchant account, discount rate would be lower, but there are other fees involved, check it out.

then you will get your sales proceeds faster,24-48 hours in your bank account

make sure it uses one of the 3 gateways compatible with Ebay if Ebay is your main venue.

I would rather switch to money orders if this is going to be PayPal's new method of doing business. They normally transfer withing 24 hours. I use PayPal extensively, I mean, extensively, in my everyday life but now will switch back to credit cards in 2018.

read Ebay policy if you are selling on Ebay.

The problem I found out is that cyberbuyers are short on cash and  long on credit,so asking them to use cash t o buy money order, postal order is not easy.

cyberfraud is rampant this time of the year, the pace is fast and middleman can easily be caught holding the bag.

Lets hope,it will go back to normal pace next year.

I think PayPal is doing it deliberately in order to get you to transfer via their "express" service, which they charge a fee for.

I just spoke with PayPal at length and this is exactly what is it. On "big ticket" (which isnt that big) purchases they want you to link a debit card to their site and then they charge you this brand new .25 cents "express" fee to transfer funds into your bank account or else they delay the transfer of funds up to 5 business days. Will definitely be using PayPal less in the coming year thanks to this. They've clearly learned from Apple "slowing down phones" on this one.

PayPal is still delaying money transefers to your bank for "security reasons" in an efforts to try and force you to sign up for their "express transfer." If this continues, I'll bring it to somone in the media's attention (I'm in advertising) and they'll have a public relations debacle/nightmare on their hands similar to what Apple is experiencing now with the slowed down iPhone software. It's just bad business on PayPal's part. I've already talked about in on Facebook.
