Payment History

I'm trying to find records of a payment (or two) that I made a couple of years ago.  But I can't seem to search that far back.  It appears impossible to email PayPal direct to ask how, and the FAQs have no answer that I can see

Can anyone help?  I don't have the precise date (would be handy to get that from the PayPal record) but I know the email.  I've tried searching the email but it says no records found - daft when the email is saved in my people I've paid bit and I KNOW I sent one maybe two payments this way

Go to "activity" top of your paypal page > on the right of the page under "simple / detailed" click on statements > activity export > then on the left of that page under history click on advanced > then in the drop down box under "find a transaction" you can search by email / name / date etc etc etc OR you can click on advanced instead of basic and go back year by year.

A shame that it is such a convoluted, clunky and time wasting exercise.  I kind of expected to be able to pull up my history online (like with the bank!).  Hey ho.  (From Smixxy - still searching reports for elusive transaction!!)
