Hi,
I recently received a payment from a family member and I got a message from PayPal Support saying that I violated some rules because ''some of my customers are sending me personal payments for purchases''. How do I continue receiving money from friends and family without PayPal considering it as a violation of rules? When they send me money next time how can they stress that it's not paying for a purchase?
I have never sent money through PayPal and I really don't know what to do.

That's a challenging question as there's no way to actually to look at how someone has their account setup or how it's used - as this a peer to peer community. Here's a few tips to consider.
Both accounts both sender and receiver should ensure that their accounts are "verifiey" - meaning both have completed two out of three steps:
* Linking and confirming your bank account
* Verifying your credit or debit card information
* Providing your social security number.
When you have a credit card linked and confirmed, it serves as your backup funding source and an additional form of ID.
Next, both accounts need to maintain a clean history - meaning, there's no open or ongoing disputes, claims or a pattern of refunds. (Similar to having a good driving record.)
When receiving funds. the sender needs to make sure that they select the "Friends and Family" option. Note, if there's a pattern of receiving funds (frequency and/or amounts) and pattern of purchases or withdraws (frequency and/or amounts), doing so may trigger a review of the transaction activities.
