The consequences of Insufficient funds in bank account

I sent a friend money from Paypal via bank account. My friend and I got confirmation e-mails saying that the transaction was complete. My friend said he sent the money to his bank account and will take 3-4 business days. However, my bank account has insufficient funds, so I do not have any money to pay the money that was sent to my friend. What will happen?? Will my bank charge me overdraft fee and debit the account sent??

Will my friend have problems?? Will my friend face any fees???

when you send funds paypal credit the person you are sending them to and then they will start the process of transfering your funds from your funding source to paypal.

if that transfer fails then they will try again a few days later.

if that one fails then normally they will try your back up funding source ie a card linked to your account.

if that fails then they may put your paypal account in negative and limit its use until you pay them back again.

they may also remove the option for you to use your bank account as a funding source in the future.

you may also get 2 lots of fees from your bank but that depends on what kind of account you have with them.
