Hello!
I live in USA and have PayPal account and PayPal debit card. ( That with the MasterCard logo on it )
I'm traveling to Finland for a vacation soon and I would like to use my debit card there too.
I assume that it's decided by each store etc. if they will accept certain card but what I need to know is that
GENERALLY speaking....
1. does this debit card wotk over seas as it works in USA?
Can I get cash from ATM machines there by using my 4-dgit code like in USA?
2. Do I have to inform PayPal that the card is used in another country? ( how to do this if yes? )
3. Do I have to have the money already IN my PayPal account ...or can I use the card like I do in USA
when my PayPal account can be $0 and they just take the amount I spent directly from my bank account ?
If someone could answer for thse questions asap, I would be really happy camper 🙂
Thank you !

Hi JCats!
Thanks for asking about using the PayPal Debit card overseas. Here's some information that may help:
1. Yes, you can use the card overseas. You can use it at ATM's, etc. Keep in mind that if you are using your account while travelling abroad, you may be asked to verify additional information when logging into your account or changing certain account information.
2. Yes, US account holders can add a travel profile to their PayPal account BEFORE they travel.
Here's how to set up a Travel Profile:
- Log in to your PayPal account from a trusted device, such as your home computer.
- Click the Profile icon beside "Log out."
- Click Security.
- Click Add near "Travel plans."
- Enter the dates of Travel. The trip must begin within the next 30 days and not last more than one year.
- Enter the countries you plan to visit.
- Choose a travel phone number and email address we can use to reach you while you are away.
- Click Save.
Note: Setting up a Travel Profile will not have any effect on the PayPal Debit MasterCard®. If you plan to use your PayPal debit card when traveling, please call us at 1-888-221-1161 or email us 1-2 days prior to leaving so that we can enter a note for our Debit Card Security department.
3. It should work like normal regarding where the funds are pulled. Just make sure you have your bank account set up as the back up funding source.
I hope this information helps and enjoy your trip!
