Trouble with prepaid gift card

Im trying to setup a prepaid gift card that I got and it says, "Your credit or debit card has been declined for this transaction; PayPal could not validate the card. Please verify that the information you entered is correct, or try a different credit or debit card.". I dont know why. Ive typed all the correct info and it still wont work.

That card is no accepted.  You need to pay with a different card.

I dont have a different card. I called the number on the back (<removed>) and registered my card. Still cant make an online purchase.
