I am supposed to be able to pay through my phone at many merchants in-store, but when I look for merchants in the app, I only get Autozone and Dollar General. Why is this? When I search for a specific store, even when I am in the same store, I get a message that the store is not found. WTH? It makes PayPal nearly sueless in the Mobile App. Annoying.

Get a PAYPAL business debit card,it will tap your Paypal balance and then your bank fund,it is a MC card so it is accepted where MC is accepted.
If you use it as a credit card,Paypal gives you 1% cash rebate, but some stores recognise it as a debit card, you cant use it as a credit card,eg AMZN.com

Instore checkout is unfortunately a bit complicated with PayPal due to the variety of checkout options it provides. Unfortunately online resources for instore checkout assist are incomplete and sparse at best.
Dollar General accepts PayPal Credit instore.
Autozone does NOT accept PayPal Credit in store, but it accepts a different form of PayPal checkout.
What funding source were you trying to check out with?

Thanks for the response.
Not really an issue regarding funding source, but rather being able to use my phone at all with businesses outside of autozone and DG for payment. Based on another response (below), it sounds like PayPal is a lousy partner for this type of trnsaction.

Thanks for the reply. PayPal just doesn't seem to be a good partner for non-web payments.
