Verisign VIP security keyfob "token"? Do they exist? If so, how the bleep do I get one?

Recently, I  was investigating these cryptographic security keyfob thingies.  I have one for another (non-paypal related) purpose, and my existing one was acting up.  I called the company to tell them that, but I didn't even know what they are formally called, so I went and did some googling (images) until I found some pictures of the things.  I was totally and pleasantly surprised to find out that PayPal offers these things.  I'm ultra-paranoid about security, and thus, I wish that I had one of these for *every* financial related account I have *everywhere*.

So anyway, I just called PayPal customer service a short time ago to ask them if I could have one of these things for my Paypal account..  They obviously DO exist.  There are whole bunch of pictures of them in Google Images.  But the PayPal customer rep I spoke with, and who identified himself only as "Brandon", was entirely unhelpful, bordering on rude. First he insisted that no such things had EVER existed, and then, when I got him to look at all of the images of the PayPal[tm] branded security keyfob things that are in Google Images, Brandon then changed tactics and instead insisted that although these things MIGHT have existed at one time, they must have been discontinued (as an available PayPal product) before he started working at PayPal in 2012.

So, you know, I mean WTF??  Do these things still exist here in September 2016 or not?  If not, then why are people here in these forums still talking about them as if they do?  And if they do exist, then who exactly do I have to bribe at PayPal in order to get one for my account?  And why was "Brandon" such an annoying and unhelpful *&^%$#@ when I asked about them?  Why couldn't he have just offered to sell me one?  (I gather that they cost $5.)

This post is from 2012.

Or you can look into getting one from Symantec: https://idprotect.vip.symantec.com/mainmenu.v

Kudos & Solved are greatly appreciated. 🙂

Paypal is a bunch of incompetent scumbags. I've been with them for almost 20 years and they've gotten progressively worse. They had real, secure 2FA with a keyfob or Symantec Verisign VIP app, but they downgraded users to SMS only - which NIST has phased out because it's not secure at all. They consciously, deliberately made us all less safe to save money and because they refuse to update their crumbling architecture. Unfortunately, they got in early and have a virtual monopoly on digital payments. If there were another electronic payment processor with as much broad support and similar feature set, I'd jump ship in a heartbeat. This company is founded on old school greed by bankers. I can't wait for them to become the next Blockbuster video so I can pïšš on their smouldering ashes.
