Want to have both a private Donate button and business BuyNow button

My PayPal acount was "private person" type.

I setup a PayPal Donate button on a website for users of my electrical diagrams to voluntarily contribute. The button worked and sent donors to a PayPal page listing payee as "DougInAmbler" or equivalent.

Then for an event I wanted to sell tickets online via PayPal or Credit Card. With PayPal advice I converted my account to "merchant" or "business" type, and got a BuyNow paypal button working on a different website, with Payee named "XYZ Business" or equivalent, the 'business name" of my account now. That button worked too.

But:now the original Donate button leads to a payee named "XYZ Business" and confuses donors.

PayPal tech support tells me I have to create a new private PayPal account, and get a new and unique email address for that. They say i can't even have a Donate button that shows my email address (fine with me), it can only show the unrelated new business name.

Also I have heard, but can't confirm, that even if I create a new email and new PayPal account, I won't be able to use the same bank account, that would be a show stopper for me.

I only have a few transactions a year on each of the two buttons.

I don't want multiple accounts, with email, PayPal, banks, just for these minimal transactions.

Is there any other solution?

Can one bank account be used on two different PayPal accounts?

You can add a bank account to one PayPal account at a time. However, if approved, you may be able to add the bank to a second PayPal account. You will be informed when linking the bank to the second PayPal account if you have been approved.

Thank you SharpieMarker, so there's hope I don't have to get a second bank account (no promise though)

You imply that it is hopeless for me to get both a Donate to "Doug" and a BuyNow to "Doug's Business" in the same account, so I have to create a new PayPal account.

Given that, I wish PayPal had advised me to create a new business account, rather than upgrading my private account and thus destroying it for the original Donate purpose.

Can I downgrade my Merchant Account back to Private? (I doubt it).

Otherwise, can I delete my Merchant Account, and start over by recreating a private account with my primary email address, for Donate, and a Merchant Account with a new email address, for BuyNow?

BTW, I have spent days researching this. The Help pages are of no use, neither are the End User Agreements. Is there a page telling me what I can and can't do in private and business accounts, how many of each I may have, etc? Emailing Customer Support just got me reply email with 3 pages of boilerplate irrelevant facts. Phone support was courteous but cost about an hour just to get a human for a few minutes and the connection was frustratingly bad, and the advice was just "make a new account", which leaves many open questions.
