What would happen if I removed the bank account which was in the process transferring my funds?

Recently I've moved some money from my account into a bank account that I've entered the wrong account number too. What would happen to the transfer if I was to remove the account?

Thanks in advance!

If your withdrawal status says "pending", PayPal shouldn't allow you to remove the bank.

If you were able to remove your bank while withdrawal is "pending" chances are, money will go back to your PayPal balance. However, it'll not instantly go back but it'll take a while.

If you have entered a wrong bank account, if that wrong account added on your PayPal account exists and was owned by someone, you clearly lost your money. But if not, then... money should bounce back to your account as there's no recipient of the transfer.

Always check your bank info are correct before adding it.

It would be a mess.  Your bank could then be permanently blocked for usage with PayPal as PayPal would no longer trust you with the bank.  Don't try to change any accounts while transfers are in progress.  You need to wait for the process to complete and then fix problems.

I assume this happened because you failed to confirm your bank account.

Your first option now should be to phone you bank for details about the account and what your bank will do.  If it fails at your bank, then the funds should eventually return to PayPal.  If the account belongs to another person, then you have another problem.

After you get you money back (less than 30 days), then add a new bank account and confirm it.  After that remove the other bank acocunt.

This process will be slow; there is no way to rush it to a fix.
