Yesterday, I made a payment from a Prepaid gift card to an individual who offered be a service elsewhere on the internet. Unfortunaly, since this was my first time doing a payment of this nature, I acdentily paid using the friends/family link. I have records of the conversation on Skype before the transaction and proof that he offered me to sell me this item and screenshots afterwards o his saying that I messed up and I won't get my money back. My questoin is do paypal cover payments from prepaid cards, and can I dispute a payment made through the friends/family link?
Thanks You very much in advance.

PayPal gives buyer protection for PayPal purchases, but PayPal does not give protection for frends/family transmissions as there are not goods that are part of the gift transaction.

So in essence, I just lost $40? Also, is it possible that I dispute this transaction and get a refund?
Thank you in advance.

If you used a credit card, perhaps; but you didn't.
