what is initiated payments?

i don’t know about this and someone created payment for my product as "initiated " and after this buyer are downloading form my website....  and paypal says to me..

Status:

Cancelled Your pending PayPal payment from maris software could not be successfully completed. The amount was not credited to your PayPal account. Please do not send your item.

now what i do i am selling downloadable products... and after payment users can download products easy... and  "maris " downloaded what they want but i did not get payment for my product... because its canceled...

now what should i do?

No much you can do as you allowed the buyer to have the product before payment was confirmed.  Furthermore, you can't provide proof of delivery so you have no seller protection.

i am selling with joomla and vartumart how can i set seller protection? and how to stop buyer to have the product before payment was confirmed.

It's up to you as a seller to withhold the product.  Don't offer downloads; only offer shipped items.

No, you just have to find a better site or system set up appropriately to sell downloads.  This "Maris Software" third party platform should only display the download link after payment is successful.  Talk to Maris and ask why their system does not do that.

Are these cancelations happening frequently?  If it is just that one glitch, maybe you can let it slide this time.  Technology is not perfect.
